'GraBS' - finalists of the 2012 RegioStars Awards
The list of 24 projects selected for the final of the 2012 RegioStars awards was announced by the European Commission last Friday, 9 December. The Regio Stars awards highlight projects for their excellent and innovative work being done.
The ‘GraBS’ project co-financed by INTERREG IVC is among the finalists in the second category ‘Sustainable Growth – eco-system services’. The project is a network of leading organisations across Europe involved in integrating climate change adaptation into urban planning and development and deals with such issues as green infrastructure including gardens, parks, productive landscapes, green corridors, green roofs and walls and blue infrastructure such as water bodies, rivers, streams, floodplains and sustainable drainage systems.
On 16 January 2012 all projects will make a presentation to the Jury. The Jury's decision on the award winners will be announced in June 2012 at the Regions for Economic Change conference.
